Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL)

At IGSC, students do not merely study English as a standalone subject; instead, they utilize English as a vehicle to explore and acquire knowledge across diverse academic fields. The curriculum is consistently structured around the 4Cs Framework (Content - Communication - Cognition - Culture), empowering students to:

  • Advance their language proficiency and communicative competence in real-world contexts.

  • Broaden interdisciplinary knowledge and elevate academic thinking.

  • Cultivate critical thinking and problem-solving skills through the medium of English.

  • Foster intercultural awareness and develop a robust global citizen mindset.

Project-based Learning (PBL)

Students actively engage in both individual and collaborative projects under the structured guidance of our faculty. Through the continuous process of research, collaboration, and product creation, students have the opportunity to apply their acquired knowledge to analyze and resolve real-world scenarios.

This methodology enables students to:

  • Develop collaborative competencies and high-functioning teamwork skills.

  • Enhance communication, presentation, and debating abilities.

  • Sharpen creative thinking, strategic planning, and problem-solving capabilities.

  • Build academic autonomy, self-direction, and a strong sense of personal responsibility in their learning journey.

Inquiry-based Learning

IGSC encourages an educational environment driven by student curiosity and intellectual exploration. Within each thematic unit, students are systematically guided by three core inquiry questions:

  • What do I already know?

  • What do I want to discover?

  • What have I learned?

This structured process empowers students to proactively formulate questions, investigate information, analyze data, and construct their own knowledge, thereby fostering independent thinking and nurturing a lifelong learning habit.

5E Learning Framework

The curriculum is seamlessly implemented through the 5E Instructional Model, delivering a clearly structured learning experience and instilling active learning habits in every student.

The pedagogical framework consists of 5 distinct phases:

  • Engage: Stimulate students' interest, pique curiosity, and connect new concepts with prior knowledge.

  • Explore: Provide students with hands-on, active experiences to observe, investigate, and explore the subject matter.

  • Explain: Guide students to systematize, articulate, and clarify their understanding under faculty mentorship.

  • Elaborate: Enable students to apply newly acquired knowledge and skills to novel situations and practical contexts.

  • Evaluate: Assess students' depth of comprehension and their ability to apply learning outcomes effectively.

Through this rigorous cyclical learning framework, students do not simply memorize information; they deeply understand the core nature of knowledge and successfully construct new cognitive connections.
